H is for Hands!!

Brown hands to be exact!!

The letter H could not have been more fitting for my first time linking up with PODcast Dove and the amazing Alphabet Project #alphabetproject

This is a picture of me yesterday!

I’d been rummaging madly through my wardrobe yesterday morning desperately looking for something to wear for work, and after a large pile of clothes landed in a pile on the floor below me I decided to just throw on a dress for ease. Plus it looked quite sunny and warm outside so I thought it was actually the better option than trousers.

I went downstairs to make breakfast and to kiss the girls and Mr B goodbye as he took them to nursery that morning.

Then as I bent down to pop my phone and pass-card into my bag I noticed how pasty and ‘milk bottle resembling’ my legs looked.

So, for some bizarre, unknown and just plain silly reason; my brain went into failure for the next few minutes as I thought it’d be a good idea to add some instant tan to my white legs in order to look a little more bronzed for work.

An instant tan that I’d never tried before I might add! And I suppose I ought to say also that this is the tan I’d bought for a recent fancy dress party, so it was extra dark for added effect!

No sooner than I’d smoothed the first deep brown globule into my leg, I realised I’d probably made a bit of a boo-boo. Nevertheless, in order to be ‘matching’, I continued on to cover the second leg with the mahogany coloured goo also.

It wasn’t rubbing in!!

I rubbed and smoothed as much and as hard as I could and in the end it slowly sunk and disappeared into my skin.

Leaving behind a rather fetching reddy burgandy color all over the bottoms of my legs!

It did not look pretty!!

More as though, I’d been wallowing in a mud bath, rather reminiscent of a pig!

But then – the real disaster became clear.

I’d forgotten to wear gloves!!!!!!!

So there I am, frantically scrubbing and scouring at my hands with anything close I could lay my hands on….

General soap, Dettol wipes, Cif bathroom cleaner, an old flannel, a loofa and a green meanie!!!!

But it didn’t work!

So I went into panic mode!

Oh no – what will I do? I look like an idiot!!

And then I got the giggles. Hysterical, uncontrollable giggles!!
It reminded me for some reason of the wonderful TV series, Friends.
And probably something Ross would do!!
(Remember ‘the one’ when he tried to take off his sweaty, leather trousers by adding talcum powder, which unfortunately made a ‘paste’!!)

So, in the end I changed back out of my dress and opted for trousers instead, but there really wasn’t much I could do about the hands!!

I didn’t think it would look too cool to sit at work, typing with gloves on!! How very Michael Jackson!!!

So off I went to work to be ridiculed for the rest of the day!

Hence the photo of me with my very browny/red jazz hands!!!!

I do wonder about me sometimes!!!

Hey!! Thank you so much for changing my URL – I’m so stupid when it comes to technical stuff!!! Or just stupid in general as you can also tell from the photo. It’s lovely to know though that this just seems to be something all girls go through at some point!! Ha ha!! Thx again for the tech support – will try better next time!! Xx

I am forever doing silly things like this. Once decided that I’d just be careful and not wear gloves to dye some tshirts. Just in case you decide to do this, it takes a number of days before your hands are not splodgy green. Nice look. #AlphabetPhoto

Hi Sara, Thank you so much for the comment! Unfortunately this seems to be becoming the norm for me nowadays – well, not fake tanning the palms of my hand, but generally being a bit of a wally!!! Glad to hear I’m perhaps not on my own though! Would love to hear any stories!! xx
